Self-reflection is important. Utilizing the StrengthFinder 2.0 book and assessment helped me understand a little more about myself during my self-review. Looking inward can help you assess your strengths and weaknesses. Not only that, but it’s also beneficial to ask those you trust about how they see you and what areas are in need of improvement.
Over the years, I learned that I am an independent person, and taking the assessment reaffirmed my view. Recounting the activities and sports I was involved in were individual sports like ice skating and dance (ballet) because I was introverted. With the exception of soccer. I found comfort in working by myself which led me to be interested in the visual/performing arts and major in photography. Being a quiet person involved in the performing arts helped me be a strong public speaker and writer. Some of my values are Authenticity, Optimism, Courage, and Compassion. The values mentioned play an important role in how I navigate through life and interact with others.
The preferred career path(s) was to be a photojournalist or photo editor in the journalism or sports media sector. The goal was to either continue taking photographs and write about them or at least edit them. As a photo editor, I have the ability to research tons of archival and historic images. As a photojournalist, I would have the option to take the photographs and write about them. At the rate that I’m at right now because of my photo jobs, I’m where I need to be in regard to career paths right now. My inquisitive nature continues to motivate me to be open and learn more about photography and people. I'm curious to see where life will take me next and I hope that I'm doing what I enjoy.
